Gold at BIFA!

Film

The Award

I’m excited to share that my photo set with Anna has received recognition at the Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA). The series won Gold in the Analog/Film/Fine Art category and also placed 2nd overall in the Analog/Film category. This is my first time receiving a winning award at an international photography competition, and I’m deeply grateful for the honor.

You can view the award-winning entry on BIFA’s website here.

About the Photo Set

This series was shot on Kodak Tri-X 400 film with a Canon EOS 1N and a 50mm f/1.4 lens. To create a soft, atmospheric effect, I used a PrismFX Haze lens filter, which added a gentle bloom to the highlights. Shooting on film always brings a certain character to the images, and Kodak Tri-X’s classic grain played perfectly into the mood I wanted to achieve.

Working with Anna was a wonderful experience. Her calm, expressive presence brought so much to this project, and I feel fortunate to have collaborated with her on this series. For the full set of photos, you can visit my blog post: Anna Collini on Kodak Tri-X and Digital.

A Moment of Gratitude

Winning these awards is a humbling experience, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to share my work. Photography is always a learning process, and I’m inspired to keep exploring and experimenting with film in new ways. Thank you to the Budapest International Foto Awards for this recognition, and to everyone who has supported my work along the way.
